About the Artist: William Slaughter

Veteran. Storyteller. Artist. Human.

I’m William — Artist. Veteran. Storyteller.

Life hasn’t followed a straight line — and neither has my art.

I’m a U.S. Army Veteran, father to three daughters, and grandfather to four wild, wonderful granddaughters.

Before I found my way back to art, I spent seven intense years in the repossession world — tracking down what others gave up on — and thriving where grit mattered more than charm.

The U.S. Army and Repossessions, plus other experiences have taught me resilience. It also taught me everything else that really matters. Life. Love. Freedom. And experiencing what we can while we are here and sharing those experiences with others.

These days, I call a quiet Idaho plot home. It’s where we raise cats, wrangle grandkids, usually riding (or working on) one of my motorcycles, and finally do what I was always meant to do: create art that speaks to our souls.

Why I Create

I was born in 1962, back when X-Acto knives and rulers dominated — and creativity meant getting your hands dirty. I studied Art, Advertising and Graphic Design the old-school way — and followed that up in a (too-long) time in corporate life — long enough to finally learn it wasn’t for me.

I (finally) walked away — not from work, but toward purpose.

Now, I create bold, raw, emotional work — sometimes (a little) strange, often powerful — but always honest.

I don’t make art for trends, galleries, or algorithms. I make art because I like making the art. "Theraputic", and it demands to be made.

What You’ll Find Here

You’ll find my canvas prints — all designed to stir something in you. If one of them speaks to you, order it(!) to be delivered to your business, office, or home.

My art reflects a life lived fully — filled with motion, stillness, fire, heartbreak, grit, and grace. Every piece is grounded in what connects us as humans: Pleasures. Beauty. Joy.
